JumonAI, Inc. ("JumonAI", "we", "us", or "our") is a Japanese corporation that operates a portfolio of software services under the JumonAI brand. This umbrella Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, share, and protect personal information across all JumonAI services. Where a specific service has additional or differing data-handling practices, those are disclosed in that service's own privacy notice or product documentation, which supplements this policy.
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to all websites, applications, and services operated by JumonAI, Inc. (collectively, the "Services") that link to or reference this policy. Where a Service publishes a service-specific privacy notice or addendum, that notice supplements this policy and prevails in case of conflict, but only with respect to that Service.
As a "personal information handling business operator" under Japan's Act on the Protection of Personal Information (APPI), we comply with applicable Japanese privacy law. Where a Service is offered to users in other jurisdictions, additional regional rights may also apply (see Section 7).
2. Information We Collect
Depending on which Service you use, we may collect the following categories of information:
- Account information: email address, display name, profile photo, and any authentication identifiers (for example, when you sign in with a third-party identity provider).
- Usage information: content you create or upload to a Service, feature usage, session activity, and event logs.
- Payment information: when a Service offers paid features, payment details are processed by our payment processor (e.g., Stripe). We do not store full credit card numbers.
- Inputs to AI features: prompts, text, images, audio, or other inputs you submit to a Service that uses AI processing.
- Device and connection information: browser type, operating system, IP address, and device identifiers, used for security and service improvement.
- Cookies and similar technologies: used for session management, preference storage, and analytics. You may control cookies through your browser settings, with the understanding that some Services may not function properly without them.
3. Purpose of Use
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- Providing, maintaining, securing, and improving the Services.
- Authenticating users and managing accounts.
- Processing payments and managing subscriptions for paid Services.
- Communicating with you about the Services (transactional notices, account updates, security alerts, and, where you have opted in, marketing communications).
- Analyzing aggregated, de-identified usage patterns for service improvement.
- Detecting, preventing, and responding to fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
- Complying with applicable laws and responding to lawful requests from public authorities.
4. Third-Party Service Providers
We rely on a limited number of third-party providers to operate the Services. These providers process personal information on our behalf under contractual obligations consistent with this policy. The categories of providers we use across our Services include:
- Cloud infrastructure and hosting (e.g., Cloudflare, Google Cloud, Amazon Web Services).
- Authentication and identity (e.g., Google, GitHub, or other identity providers used by a specific Service).
- Payment processing (e.g., Stripe) for paid Services.
- Email delivery (e.g., Resend) for transactional and notification email.
- Analytics and product telemetry (e.g., Google Analytics, PostHog).
- AI inference providers (e.g., Google, OpenAI, Anthropic), as described in Section 5.
- Customer support tooling.
5. AI Processing of User Content
Some JumonAI Services use third-party AI providers (such as Google, OpenAI, or Anthropic) to process inputs you submit, including text prompts, images, audio, or files. The specific provider, model, and data-handling terms vary by Service and are disclosed in that Service's product documentation or privacy notice.
JumonAI does not train its own foundational AI models, and we do not use your inputs or outputs to train third-party models without disclosure. Where a Service offers a setting to opt out of optional analytics or improvement processing, that setting is documented in the Service.
6. Retention and Deletion
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to provide the Services and for the periods required by applicable law. Specific retention periods vary by data type:
- Account information: retained for the life of the account, plus a short period after account deletion to allow recovery and meet legal obligations.
- User-generated content: retained while it is stored in the Service. You can delete most user-generated content at any time through the Service interface.
- Transaction and billing records: retained for the period required by Japanese tax and corporate law (typically up to 7 years).
- Logs and analytics data: retained for as long as necessary for security, fraud prevention, debugging, and service improvement, after which they are deleted or aggregated.
7. Your Rights
You have the following rights with respect to your personal information held by us:
- Disclosure: You may request disclosure of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correction, addition, or deletion: If your personal information is inaccurate or incomplete, you may request correction, addition, or deletion.
- Suspension of use or erasure: You may request suspension of use or erasure of your personal information if it is being handled beyond the scope of the stated purpose of use.
- Suspension of third-party provision: You may request suspension of provision to third parties.
- Data portability: You may request export of your content and data.
- Lodging a complaint: If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact Japan's Personal Information Protection Commission or, where applicable, the data-protection authority of your country of residence.
8. Exercising Your Rights
To exercise any of the rights above, contact us at privacy@jumonai.com. After verifying your identity, we will respond within two weeks in principle. We do not charge a fee for these requests.
Our designated contact for personal-information complaints and inquiries is privacy@jumonai.com.
Where you reside in a jurisdiction whose data-protection law grants additional rights beyond those listed above, we will respond to such requests in accordance with applicable law.
9. Children's Privacy
Our Services are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below this age. Users between 13 and the age of majority in their jurisdiction may use the Services only with the consent of a parent or legal guardian. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@jumonai.com and we will take steps to delete it.
10. Security Measures
We implement administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These include encryption in transit, access controls, audit logging, and routine security reviews of our infrastructure and providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Cross-Border Data Transfers
JumonAI is based in Japan. To operate the Services, we use third-party providers, some of whom are located in or operate infrastructure outside Japan, primarily in the United States.
The United States does not have a comprehensive federal personal-information-protection law equivalent to Japan's Act on the Protection of Personal Information. Protection in the United States is provided through sector-specific federal laws, the laws of individual states, and self-regulatory frameworks. The third-party providers we use implement their own protective measures, including access controls, encryption in transit and at rest, security certifications (such as ISO 27001 or SOC 2), and contractual data-protection terms.
By using a Service that links to or references this policy, you consent to your personal information being processed by these providers in the countries where they operate.
12. Google User Data (SEO Inspector Browser Extension)
JumonAI offers a browser extension, the AIVO SEO Inspector, that can connect to your Google account to display your own website's search and analytics data inside the extension. Connecting a Google account is optional and is initiated by you.
When you connect, the extension requests read-only access to the Google services listed below, together with your basic Google profile email address for sign-in. It never requests write access and cannot modify your Search Console or Analytics data.
This access is used solely to read and display your own Search Console and Google Analytics metrics within the extension's panels, at your request. JumonAI does not use this Google user data for advertising, does not sell it, and does not share or transfer it to third parties.
The Google data is processed in your browser and is not stored on JumonAI's servers. Your authorization credentials and access tokens are stored locally in your browser's extension storage on your own device. You can disconnect the account or reset the extension at any time to remove them, and you can also revoke the extension's access from your Google Account permissions page at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions.
JumonAI's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
The specific read-only scopes the extension may request are:
- Google Search Console — read-only (https://www.googleapis.com/auth/webmasters.readonly): to display your site's clicks, impressions, click-through rate, average position, and top queries.
- Google Analytics — read-only (https://www.googleapis.com/auth/analytics.readonly): to display your site's page-level traffic, users, sessions, and engagement metrics.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date above. For material changes, we will provide additional notice (for example, by email to active users or by an in-product banner). Your continued use of the Services after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
